i read somewhere this myth about how humans were once hemaphrodites - beings that possessed both male and female characteristics as well as sexual organs, with 2 faces, 4 arms, 4 legs, and etc.. you get the idea. double of everything.

and we grew greedy tried to rebel against the gods, so to punish us the gods split all of us into halfs, one face, 2 arms, 2 legs and 1 set of sexual organs each, to weaken our power - the male half of the hemaphrodite retained its male characteristics, and the female half retained its female characteristics - and make each being incomplete without the other and yearning to find their other halves.

i don't know why the news of the little girl dying felt like someone stuck my heart in a bucket of cold water.
i guess inside i was really hoping that she would somehow.. experience a miracle and grow up to lead a normal life. there was so much hope.

i don't know why i cried. but right now.. i feel so helpless. and then suddenly.. the thought of accounting dims by comparison. my worries are so trivial.
